Elf Studio Lipstain Review

Review of Fame (with a little bit of shame)
Studio Lip Stain in Lucky Lady
Elf
$3.00

Category: Affordable

Intended for: Lips

Texture: Matte comes with a gloss for glossy look

Pigmentation: Average

Dupe For: Comparable to Limecrime Velvetines (which is a plus because you don’t have to pay 20 dollars to the shady company)

Recommended For: Anyone (with perfectly symmetrical lips that is)

Likes: Matte finish, ease of application

Dislikes: Couldn’t use gloss because applicator broke off in tube, not opaque enough to use if you have to ‘shape’ your lips

Versatility: Can be worn for any occasion in many different shades, can be worn all day while eating, drinking, etc. without having to reapply

Ease of Application: Very simple to apply but as previously mentioned, it’s not opaque enough to reshape your lips with the stain

In Conclusion: I like this product and for three dollars, the bads are absolutely worth it. It was a bit of a letdown that the gloss is now unusable, but I have other glosses I can put on over it. I’ve ordered this same product in another color and we will see if I’m more thoroughly pleased with that one.

Elf Matte Lip Color Review

Matte Lip Color in Praline
elf
$3.00

Category: Affordable (most elf products range from $1-6)

Intended for: Lips

Texture: Matte

Pigmentation: Opaque

Recommended For: Any skin type

Likes: Smooth application, opacity, more control with the pencil style applicator than a lipstick tube

Dislikes: Difficult to get “perfect application” with brush, color on the package isn’t true to color on the lips.

Versatility: Fairly versatile, depending on your attitude. The praline color is definitely a fall color only, but the other colors may work better for other seasons/occasions.

Ease of Application: Glides on easily like a lip balm

In Conclusion: It does transfer from the lips easily, which is a negative, but on the opposite it’s moisturizing which is rare for a lip color. It’s lasts a couple of hours before I need to reapply, and the amount I needed to reapply is very little. Would I buy it again? Of course! In fact, I already have. Elf is having an online sale today 50% off of all products. I couldn’t help myself!

Post One

There is absolutely no way to make this introduction not cheesy, so let’s just get it over with. Hello and welcome to my blog! Who knows how long I will actually be able to stick with this, but for now I’m very excited about the plans I’ve made. I’ll be posting anywhere from one to eight or nine times a week. My posts will mostly consist of:

  • Product Reviews
  • Some Insight on My Everyday Makeup Routine
  • Makeup Tutorials (either by me, or my attempt at another tutorial)
  • Nail Art
  • Home Remedies and DIYs for Skin, Hair, and Nails

My first tutorial to kick off this blog will be how I do my eyebrows. Unfortunately, I’ve let them go since starting my new job (where pretty is irrelevant) and desperately need to fix them before I go insane. Eyebrows are what makes or breaks a face for me, and I resemble a blotchy skinned kid with lack of knowledge involving makeup and grooming. On the plus side, the constant application of liquid latex on my upper lip and chin has kept that area impeccably hair free! My first home remedy test is likely to be a homemade moisturizer, but don’t hold me to that. In exciting news, I had somebody from Modere offer me products in exchange for a review. I plan on researching that more and if it’s not a scam expect that from me as well! I’ve got a shipment of e.l.f. products coming in, as well as some new makeup brushes, and I won the whole fall collection from LVX polish. There should be no lack in products to review and looks to create. So, without further ado, Eyes on Rhi has officially launched!

XOXO,
