5. It lives up to the hype!
I’ve been hoarding samples of the Glamglow Supermud mask for
this reasons. Every time I go into Sephora with someone I find myself grabbing
a sample of it to show them the amazing effects of the product, and normally
end up with enough to do my face as well as theirs, plus some extra for spot
treatments. Basically, this stuff is magic. It doesn’t dry out my already
insanely dry skin, nor do I break out the next day. In fact in the three times
I’ve been able to use it in the past week (which is how often the Glamglow
websites “prescribes” it), it has changed the texture of my skin dramatically.
My pores are smaller, my skin doesn’t feel like sandpaper to the touch, and my
blackheads are either improving or are gone altogether in some places.
4. It’s actually a great value.
The price tag on this tiny jar is impressive. It’s a
whopping 69 dollars for 1.2 fl. Oz. of product. However, when applied with a
clean foundation brush, I can make one tiny sample size last me a whole week
(using it 3 times a week per the website’s suggestion). Considering the fact that some weeks I may use
it less or not at all, and that I’ll spend more money buying different products
trying to find something that works as well, 69 dollars isn’t a bad price for a
jar I’m estimating could last me 6-12 months.
3. Watching the gunk being removed from your pores is grossly addicting.
I’ve got to admit what initially drew me to try the product
was a picture I saw on Pinterest of this product drawing the oils out of the
pores on a person’s nose. It was genuinely disturbing, so of course I had to
have it. Without a doubt, it’s incredibly satisfying being able to see what it’s
doing. Admittedly, it doesn’t rid your face of blackheads and blemishes in one
use, but there is an improvement.
2. The drying time is next to nothing.
From the second you start spreading the mask onto your skin
it starts drying. The instructions say you can leave it for 5, 10, or 20
minutes. I always try to leave it on for the 20 but I don’t think I’ve ever
made it past 15. It doesn’t hurt but I’m not a fan of the tight feeling masks
create when they’re dry. I integrated this into my beauty routine today while
getting ready for Thanksgiving, and it didn’t add more than five minutes to it.
Not only does it dry quickly but it rinses off easily with warm water and the
help of a rag for the little nooks and crannies of your face (I’m looking at
you, nose crease).
1. There aren’t a crazy amount of unnatural products in it.
This is massively important to me recently. I noticed that the
more natural the product I use on my face, the better it feels. I’ll be doing a
whole separate post about my skin care routine eventually, but for now let’s
just talk about what this mask doesn’t have. Glamglow says their supermud mask
does not contain:
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan
Guess what? All of those ingredients are not that good for
you.
In conclusion, get the mask, but definitely make
sure you try it out at least twice before investing that much money in it. While
the mask works for me, it’s probably not going to work for everybody.
Disclaimer: I was not given anything for this post, I'm just very enthusiastic about the product!
